When hubby’s gone – make Kitchen Sink Cookies!

Yes, this is the way to keep yourself happy when the husband is gone.  In case you’re interested in sharing in the fun with us, here’s the recipe:

Kitchen Sink Cookies

  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 1/2 C. white sugar
  • 1/2 C. brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 C. oil (I used just under 1/2 C.)
  • 1 3/4 C. flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 C. oatmeal (I used old-fashioned oats)
  • 1/2 C. coconut
  • 1/2 C. crushed corn flakes (or Rice Krispies)
  • 1/2 C. nuts (optional, as always)
  • 6 oz. chocolate chips (never optional!)

Presto!  You know how to do it from here on out, right?  😉

(If you don’t, here’s the abbreviated version of what to do next: Mix together the first 6 ingredients in the order listed.  Then add the flour and baking soda.  Add the rest of the stuff, and finally mix the chocolate chips in by hand.  Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.)

Thanks to the Morning Star Evangelical Lutheran Church 10th Anniversary Celebration Cookbook from Jackson, WI for this fantastic recipe!  Nothing like those good Lutheran cookbooks for some delicious, albeit a little hard on the waistline, recipes!

And now, I leave you to go shovel more cookies into my mouth while they’re still warm.  Yummmm…  Baby J will enjoy her Mommy Milk tonight!
