planning out her mate

Recently Lyd said to me, “Momma, when I grow up I don’t want to marry a man who’s a Christian.  I want to marry a man who is NOT a Christian so that I can turn him into a Christian and get one more person to go to heaven.”

While impresed with her depthof faith and foresight of thought, my practical side wanted to instantly warn her NOT marry the guy until she was sure that he WAS a Christian so that she wouldn’t be stuck married to some guy who didn’t share her faith.  Luckily, I held my tongue.  My rational side told me, “She’s six years old.  Don’t rain on her parade today.”  Thankfully, I listened to my rational side.

Instead, I told her, “What a wonderful idea, darling!”

I love my daughter.  🙂
