Natural Childbirth

Some of you may know that I am a big advocate for natural childbirth.  I have been blessed to have two natural childbirth experiences in hospitals where I had no drugs, no IV, and even no episiotomies (with no stitches needed, either!)  Both of my births were attended by a doula as well as my obstetrician.  My two births were very different, and I hope that God gives me the opportunity to birth another baby or two sometime in the future to experience birth again!

You can read about my daughters’ birth experiences at these links:

If you’re at all interested in natural childbirth, here are a list of books and other resources that I have reviewed:

Spritual Midwifery by Ina May Gaskin
The Complete Book of Pregnancy and Childbirth by Sheila Kitzinger
The Natural Pregnancy Book by Aviva Jill Romm
The Business of Being Born — a documentary movie by Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein

I will add more books and resources as I review them.
