About Me

I am Emily: a wife, a mother, a daughter, a friend, a music teacher, a singer (1st soprano!), a piano player, and a good dishwasher.  I am creative, thought-full, frugal, conscientious, idealistic, a bit of a dreamer, and really good at connecting with little children.  I am a procrastinator, occasionally mildly anxious, enjoy planning things more than carrying them out, and a little too addicted to the internet.  I like good novels (but I have a hard time resisting skipping to the end to see how it all turns out!), taking walks outside, spending time at the ocean, reading blogs, using up my leftovers without having to throw anything away, and watching PBS.  I teach Music Together classes, and I want to be a doula (professional labor assistant) when my kids grow up, although my husband wants me to get a master’s degree in music.  I am a WELS Confessional Lutheran and a pastor’s wife.  I like organic food, alternative medicine, acupuncture, and natural childbirth.  I refuse to watch gory crime shows or medical dramas, but I love to watch “Dancing With the Stars” and “The Office,” and “The Biggest Loser,” and I wish the show “Friends” was still on the air.
